As reported previously, Mono will be releasing its new, altogether ninth studio album mid-October and they just released the full version of their music video for the title track… and if the rest of the album will be in similar vein, we will be in for a treat. The song itself starts of with the band’s usual slow, melancholic, drone-heavy sound, but just when you would lay back to enjoy the beautiful soundscapes, all hell breaks lose and the rest of the track is actually closer to instrumental black metal than their usual post rock sound. And the accompanying video, directed by Harri Haataja and shot in an eerie forest in glorious black & white fits the mood perfectly with its avant garde horror movie-like visuals. So, check it out below…

But before that, in a connecting note, the band’s guitarist Taka Goto (who already worked solo in the past) did a Q&A with the US metal magazine Decibel, where he announced that he has launched a new solo project and the first album is already finished, waiting to be released sometime around next spring. No more info about it at the moment, but it is definitely worth to read the whole interview here, where, besides the solo project, he also talks a about the recording of Requiem for Hell and a many other things.
