Actually this isn’t much of a live report, more of a photo & video report of Japanese beatmaker Tajima Hal‘s visit to Budapest a week or so ago. He was invited by Hungarian beatmaker collective Elevated and played along a couple of local guys in a small cafe & art gallery on the Buda side of the town. He played an hour long set of his superb, laidback boom bap tunes including a couple of huge favorites from his vast discography that is available @ bandcamp. So, check out the video and photos below and keep an eye on Tajima Hal and his label, Hermit City Recording that just released an excellent compilation this summer called Beats In Cycle (also on bandcamp), that might be the most comprehensive guide to Japan’s beatmaker scene to date.
